Good morning boys and girls! It's April 13, 2020. The weather is calling for lots of rain and wind later. It's a great day to curl up with a good book! This week's assignment/choice board is posted. Today you will be learning about measurement in Scholastic Learn At Home. After you read the stories, try measuring things around your house that are about a foot long. If you don't have a ruler, use your parent's shoe (ask permission first). Let me know what you find! Today for specials you have music, and there is also an SEL video featuring Howard Wigglebottom. You will learn how Howard controls his emotions, and there is a cute activity afterward that you can try at home.
Other things to keep in mind:
-The school wide read aloud continues today. Who will be today's mystery reader?
-Tomorrow we will have our Google Meet at 10 am. Note the time change! We will be having some special guests joining us!
-I'm going to assign a "Math Challenge" every day during the morning post. Kids who submit it and get the correct answer will earn APPLES tickets. You have to ask a parent if they can e-mail me the answer so that nobody else sees your answer. I will be keeping track of everyone who earns an APPLES ticket and once we are back in school I will give you your APPLES tickets. I will also announce the winners and the answer for the day on the next day's morning post.
-Here is today's MATH CHALLENGE:
Dr. O'Hearn Curran's tomato plant measures 38 inches. Mrs. King's tomato plant measures 2 feet, 17 inches. Whose tomato plant is taller?
