Grading FAQ's

Q:  What do all of the letters mean on my child's papers that come home?

A:         T - Completed TOGETHER in class
             M - Mastery (80 - 100 %)
             P - Progressing (60 - 80%)
            BP - Beginning Progressing (50 - 59%)
          NYE - Not Yet Evident

Q: Are all papers graded?
A: No. Many of the papers in class such as ABC order and the math packets are completed as center work or completed together/reviewed in class.  The spelling tests, reading tests, math assessments, and quick checks are always graded.

Q: My child is bringing home a lot of papers with Ps and BPs on them. Should I be concerned?
A: No. We expect students to improve as the year goes on. We expect them to progress, and all students develop their skills in a different time manner.  Some papers, such as the math assessments for each unit, will need to be redone at the teacher's discretion, and a note will be put on the assessment.
