Weathering and Erosion Experiment

Students used sugar cubes and water to see the effect of water on the cubes. This is similar to the effect of water on mountains, and shows how erosion can occur.

WEATHERING AND EROSION SCIENCE UNIT KICKOFF!!!!!!!!

Yesterday students learned first hand how rocks go through the weathering process. We kicked off our science unit on erosion and weathering, which is part of the Next Generation Science Standards! For the next few weeks, students will be learning about how landforms are effected by weather, wind, and other elements. We will also be studying earthquakes and volcanoes! Tomorrow we will be conducting an investigation using sugar cubes and water, to see how water can effect rocks and minerals. Later on, we will be doing volcano experiments and experiments with soil and water.
