Scholastic Book Orders

Flyers came home this week for our first Scholastic Book Order of the year. If you are interested in purchasing books for your child, please send in a check made payable to Scholastic Book Clubs or go online and order from the site directly. Social Studies Test - Thursday, September 14

Be able to write the following state symbols. Spelling does not count but students need to be able to write the words legibly. A study sheet was sent home on 9/8.

State Dog - Boston Terrier
State Cat - Tabby
State Tree - American Elm
State Insect - Ladybug
State Fish - Cod
State Muffin - Corn
State Beverage - Cranberry Juice
State Flower - Mayflower
State Game Bird - Turkey
State Marine Mammal  - Right Whale
State Bird - Black Capped Chickadee
State Sport -Basketball
State Nickname - The Bay State

Also be able to write two more interesting facts you have learned about Massachusetts. (We will be working on this during the week in class!)

We Have A Growth Mindset!!!!

We spent a lot of time talking about how to have a growth mindset today! Students were given words that represented growth and fixed mindsets, and worked together to come up with definitions for the words. We will refer to the words throughout the year during our weekly social skills lessons!

Grumpy Cat Is Here!

I can't believe school is starting in a week! I am grumpy and enjoy being that way!  I hope the students in Mrs. Wilson's class will be able to cheer me up. Furthermore, SkippyJon Jones received a lot of positive attention last year. I hope that he gives me a warm welcome to 3F!
